WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first therapy visit guide

Welcome to Rehab Associates, where your journey to improved health and mobility begins. Our compassionate team is dedicated to providing personalized care tailored to your unique needs, ensuring a smooth and effective therapy experience.

1) Preparing for your appointment

We understand that starting physical therapy can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to make it as smooth as possible. Before your first appointment, try to arrive about 15 minutes early. This gives you time to complete any necessary paperwork and discuss your copay or deductible, which is usually due at the time of service unless other arrangements are made. Don’t forget to bring your insurance information, a list of medications, and any referral forms if required.

2) What to wear

Comfort is key during your physical therapy sessions. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. If you’re visiting for a knee, hip, or lower body issue, shorts are a great option. For upper-body issues, wear a top that provides easy access to the area of concern. Sneakers or tennis shoes are ideal, as they provide the support you'll need during exercises.

3) Initial examination

Your first appointment includes a thorough evaluation by one of our skilled therapists. We’ll discuss your medical history, current symptoms, and any functional limitations you’re experiencing. Our goal is to understand your unique needs to craft a treatment plan that works best for you. This might include measurements of your range of motion, strength, balance, and more. It’s a collaborative session, so feel free to share any concerns or questions you may have.

4) Personalized treatment plan

After the initial exam, we’ll work together to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. Your therapist will guide you through targeted therapy sessions designed to improve your strength, balance, mobility, and overall function. As you progress, your treatment plan may be adjusted to ensure you’re on the path to recovery. Our goal is not just to relieve your pain but to equip you with the tools and knowledge for long-term health and wellness.

We’re here to support you every step of the way toward recovery and long-term wellness. Together, we’ll work to alleviate your pain, restore your function, and help you regain a more active, fulfilling life.
