Responsibilities

​

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in providing high-quality therapy services to patients in a private practice setting.

  • Work directly with patients to implement prescribed treatment plans, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and physical modalities.

  • Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, home exercise programs, and self-management strategies.

  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting significant changes to the supervising physical therapist.

  • Prepare treatment areas and ensure equipment is clean, well-maintained, and properly set up.

  • Assist with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and other administrative tasks as needed.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Provide guidance and support to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

  • Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment focused on optimal outcomes.

  • Participate in regular team meetings and professional development activities.

Qualifications

​

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

  • Current state license or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Valid CPR certification

  • Experience working in an outpatient orthopedic or private practice setting (preferred)

  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic exercise principles

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations

  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and treatment protocols

  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment to delivering personalized care and maintaining high ethical standards

  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems and basic computer skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also functioning independently

  • Willingness to participate in continuing education to stay current with best practices​​​
